KT & G Sangsangmadang introduces British illustrator Quentin Blake (1932-) as the fifth hero of the 20th century 'Masterpiece' series.

The exhibition showcases more than 120 original artworks by Quentin Blake thoughout his artistic career, including published work (such as 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'  and 'The BFG' by Roald Dahl, as well as many of his own books - 'Mister Magnolia', 'Clown' -  as well as with his other collaborators, John Yeoman and Michael Rosen)  besides many recent projects for hospitals and public spaces.  It is  an opportunity for anyone, both young and old, to experience these timeless illustrations by one of Britain's best-loved illustrators.  

The show also includes film footage of Quentin Blake working in his London studio, explaining his artistic technique, and a mockup of his working desk with some of his own pens and other materials.  Visitors have the chance to buy an exhibition catalogue prepared by the creative team ('Quentin Blake: The Illustrator's Art') and exclusive exhibition mechandise (posters, tote bags, chocolates, etc) created specially for the show by the exhibition team using Quentin's artworks.

The exhibition tours to KT&G SangSangMadang gallery in Chuncheon from March - June 2018, and to the Citizens' Hall in Busan from July.

The 'Masterpiece' series undertaken by the team at KT&G SangSangMadang seeks to unveil works of 20th century artists whose value is not well known in Korea. In 2014, the artist selected was Robert Duino, in 2015 Raynon Savignac, in 2016 Jean Jacques Sempe, and in 2017 Henri Lartigue.
