Italian cultural organisation CUADRI proudly presents a new exhibition “Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake: A Splendiferous Collaboration”, produced by CRC Innova, conceived and curated by CUADRI ETS, in collaboration with The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre and Quentin Blake.

The exhibition offers a journey in reverse, beginning with Dahl and Quentin's best-known books, stories and characters,  gradually taking visitors behind the scenes of their creative process.  From illustration techniques and working spaces to the ongoing dialogue between author and illustrator, the journey ultimately leads into the more intimate world of Roald Dahl, shaped by personal experiences, close observation of the natural world and imagination.

When the exhibition opened on 2 October, guests enjoyed a special event: the cutting of a 60-metre-long, 200-kilogram chocolate bar, specially made for the occasion, in collaboration with Confartigianato Cuneo and Amici del Cioccolato.  It was a tribute to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, one of Roald Dahl’s best-known books, published in 1964 and first illustrated by Quentin Blake in 1995.

Visitors to the exhibition travel through four different spaces, filled with Dahl's ideas and Quentin's illustrations, exploring the development of the stories and some of the ideas behind them.  Included in the show is a space for visitors to experiment with their own drawing style, based on Quentin's practice of using a lightbox, with plenty of other interactive exhibits designed to appeal to the whole family.

Admission to the exhibition is free.

The exhibition runs from Saturday 3 October 2026 to Sunday 25 April 2027 in Cuneo, Italy, Open Tuesday to Friday from 3.30pm to 7.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 1pm & 2pm to 7.30pm.
