Quentin Blake comes to the Arc Gallery at Cromwell Place to present a snapshot of recent work, most of which was created over the past 12 months.
The exhibition includes a selection of pieces first shown as part of 'INK' at Hastings Contemporary in late 2023, plus new explorations in different formats and mediums from ballpoint pen to the Stabilo Woody watercolour pencil, along with the 2023 series, 'Uplifted', in his quintessential pen, ink and watercolour, celebrating the joys of freedom and enjoying the outdoors.
Quentin's stunning large-scale portraits and imaginary compositions are all in his inimitable style, full of movement, humour and pathos. The exhibition also exclusively launches his latest book The Art of the Ballpoint - a beautifully crafted, hand-bound, signed, limited edition hardback of fifty exquisitely reproduced portraits.
