New 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' Musical now open in London

Featuring an animated sequence of drawings by Roald Dahl's principal illustrator, Quentin Blake, the show has now officially opened at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane
Directed by Sam Mendes, the new musical is set to be a blockbuster and has been eagerly awaited by fans of Roald Dahl's classic tale of Charlie and the quixotic chocolatier, Mr Willy Wonka, played by Douglas Hodge. Quentin Blake was commissioned to draw a sequence of pictures on the history of chocolate which have been cleverly animated by the production team and are played on a giant screen at the back of the stage.
Previews of the musical ran for a week before the official opening night on 25 June. The Theatre Royal are now taking bookings for 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Musical' until 2014. See more on the official show website www.charlieandthechocolatefactory.com
