Bidding open now in the Freedom from Torture auction 2020
Friday 13th November 2020
Quentin has, once again, donated a piece of original arwork to Freedom from Torture's 2020 auction, 'Resilience'.
Freedom from Torture is the only UK charity dedicated to helping refugees and asylum seekers who have survived torture by providing legal, medical and psychological support. The charity also runs many creative group projects such as art, gardening, music and creative writing. One of these groups, 'Write to Life', is the longest-running refugee writing group in Britain.
The annual auction helps to raise much-needed funds to support these projects, and all proceeds go directly to the charity. This year, the auction has been supported by many well-known names who offer a diverse range of lots: Quentin's drawing, 'Melanie riding on Mervyn' (pictured) is joined by authors Margaret Attwood, Mark Haddon and Louis de Bernieres (among many others) offering to make a lucky biddre into a character in one of their novels; as well as private poetry and writing workshops, signed books and exclusive Zoom meetings with authors such as Prue Leith and Helen Fielding.
Bidding is open now at www.resilienceauction.org until 9pm (GMT) on Thursday 26 November.
