Giant Gromit sculpture 'Gizmo' decorated by Sir Quentin Blake raises £32,000
Following the phenomenally successful Gromit Unleashed trail and exhibition in Bristol, the Gromit sculptures were all auctioned on 3 October, raising a total of £2,357,000 for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal.  The Grand Appeal is the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity to help sick children and their families.

Intenet bidders and those in the room at Cribbs Causeway watched as the 92 sculptures (81 giant Gromits and 11 'pups') were snapped up one after another.  In a short film shown before the auction of his Gromit sculpture covered in flying children, Sir Quentin hoped that Gizmo would finish up in a hospital where children could see and enjoy it.
