Quentin Blake in residence at Liberty's 'Seventy Five'
Tuesday 8th April 2025
Liberty, the landmark West End department store, celebrate the unveiling of their new restaurant Seventy Five alongside an artist residency by Quentin Blake.
As part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the store’s 1875 opening, the second-floor venue will be run in partnership with Marlow-based catering company Goose + Berry, making their restaurant debut, and will offer seasonal modern British cuisine including home-produced Buckinghamshire honey and herbs.

Chef Joe Holness, who has worked at highly rated establishments including Da Terra and Simon Rogan’s Fera at Claridges, is running the kitchen, while head pastry chef Lizzie Ross has put together an Arts & Crafts-inspired afternoon tea.
Fittingly, in what is traditionally a design-led store, the interiors include Chinoiserie motifs and Persian garden illustrations. Quentin Blake is the first artist to be invited for residency, showing 16 of his original drawings, and 2 larger-scale reproductions, on the theme of food and drink in a convivial atmosphere. Created between 2004 and 2015, the original works were all commissioned for use on Quentin’s popular range of greetings cards manufactured by Woodmansterne. Original drawings are presented in bespoke walnut wood frames, hand-crafted by Frame:London, with museum-grade double mounts in sage and cream. The highest level of UV filtered glass (AR99) has been used for the glazing to reduce the risk of fading to the delicate original watercolours.
