BBC announces voice talents for 'Quentin Blake's Box of Treasures' series

The BBC has today announced a stellar cast to voice landmark animated series Quentin Blake’s Box Of Treasures produced by Eagle Eye Drama and coming to CBBC and BBC iPlayer in December 2023.
The animated box set of hand-picked specials is based on six of Quentin's iconic best-selling books. Adrian Lester will narrate the series, and will be joined by Alison Steadman as the voice of the indomitable Mrs Armitage (in Mrs Armitage on Wheels), with Simon Pegg voicing lead roles in Zagazoo, Snuff and Angel Pavement. Nina Sosanya will bring Angela Bowling to life in Loveykins.

From Jack and Nancy’s exhilarating island adventure to Zagazoo’s hilariously off-beat antics, Loveykins’ extraordinary transformation to the zany inventions of Mrs Armitage, these beautifully crafted and engaging stories of fun, friendship and adventure will deliver family entertainment at its very best and provide an exclusive treat for audiences.

Quentin Blake’s Box Of Treasures is a co-production between the BBC and Eagle Eye Drama, with Creative Conspiracy and in association with animation studios Spicy Acorn, Tchack and Kong. The series will be directed by Gerrit Bekers
Created with traditional hand-drawn animation techniques to capture the timeless nature of Quentin Blake’s stories, Quentin Blake’s Box Of Treasures will add to BBC’s long-established tradition of animated specials.
